The weather is always the top most worry cause we don't want to be laugh at carrying our sissy umbrellas. **dodge shoe from Cousin Rain** .
Ok where was I? ... yeah the weather. If weather holds, do all outdoor activities first. That is always the guiding principle ( now I sound like my boss, yuck!). To cut the story short, we took enough food to last us until lunch and embark on the journey to Figueres, the land of Salvador Dali. The book said you can take the train to Figueres from Catalunya ( the Central Station ).
That is a lie. Trust me.. Feng shui master will lie to you for 8 to 10 years but I will never lie to you. The train to Figueres is at Barcelona Sans. About 2 stations from La Rambla I think. We figure that one out after a lot of running around the station, finger pointing and jabbing here and there. Did I mention, they don't speak English either. There were times like this I wish I had the guts to ask Maldini to be my tour guide. Anyway thanks to Cousin Rain, we are on our way. Its a 3 hour ride.
Figueres is a small town. The population is about 33k. Very quiet and peaceful. Its small enough we are comfortable walking around without a map. You can already see some of Dali's creation along the way. Just follow them and the flock of tourists :)

At the end of the trail, you will see a big red building with spots of gold. Look like a cushion but if you look closer the spots of gold are actually croissants, testimonial of his love for bread. I still wonder how come no bakery has ever taken design their shop in such a manner?

Dali, born in 1904 was a very very great artist. He was eccentric, unusual and innovative. I have no understanding of his work and yet I admired the creativity and skill he employed to do what he did. I had the feeling that I might understand and yet do not understand at all. Weird huh..
Perhaps there was one painting that I might understood which is the "Persistence of Memory". Its a a painting one can nod to oneself while looking at it. The rest are either art or tacky. Its for you to decide :)
